20 мая 1996 года общественности впервые была представлена модель BiG M. Благодаря проверенным косилочным брусьям EasyCut её ширина захвата достигала 9,1 м. Двигатель первой косилки BiG M был мощностью 300 л.с.

20 May 1996 – BiG M is unveiled to the public.

November 2001 – Krone introduces the modified BiG M II at Agritechnica show.

November 2009 – Krone introduces BiG M II’s big brother at Agritechnica show. Powered by an up to 520 hp engine and working at a width of 13.2 m (43'4"), BiG M 500 brings sheer efficiency and output.

November 2011 – Powered by an up to 420 hp engine and featuring the new SilentSpace cab and a new ergonomic joystick, BiG M 420 from Krone offers a significantly higher operator comfort than its predecessor.

On 20 May 2000, the first Krone forage harvester prototype badged BiG X was officially presented to the public. It was a 40km/h high-speed version that was powered by a 540hp engine. The machine featured a future-minded styling. The BiG X prototype was built in 1999 and finished in early 2000. Its individual functions and features, especially the new electronic system, were taken into operation sequentially. Then, on 20 May 2000 the roll-out took place.
