Chassis #RA50 is the last factory-built Opel Ascona 400. Opel planned to use the Manta 400 on the Safari Rally in 1983, but the homologation ran late and so another Ascona had to be built for Rauno Aaltonen. He had good chances for victory but the oil pump let him down on the last leg. After the Safari Rally this RA 50 stayed in Kenya to be driven by the ladies team Ann Taieth and Sylvia King in the Kenyan Championship where they won two events and were the runner up for the national title. Imported back to Germany in 2009 by Andreas Hoppe and later restored.
